Introduction

Welcome to our website and hope that you enjoy your visit. If you are not able to find the information you are seeking please contact any of the Committee members and we will endeavour to answer your enquiry. The GSDCQ (Inc) is affiliated with and abides by the Constitution for Incorporated Clubs of the Canine Control Council of Queensland. In order to function, conduct shows and events the GSDCQ Inc. follow this Constitution. We are also affiliated with the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia.

The Club encourages members to become “Responsible Dog Owners “and to be pro-active in the promotion of Council Breed Improvement Schemes. The Club promotes the ideas and aims of the GSDCA in response to the Dangerous Dog Act, whereby the German Shepherd breed is discriminated against purely on the basis of its name. The GSDCQ Inc. promotes ‘punish the deed, not the breed ‘in response to the Dangerous Dog Act. The Club was re-established after the war in 1957 by a group of enthusiasts who wished to promote the breeding, showing, trialling and ownership of the purebred registered German Shepherd dog. Normal social behaviours and good sportsmanship amongst members and those participating in or attending events is encouraged by the Club. Members live in all areas of this large State and the Executive recognize member’s breed activities in regional areas. If you live in central Queensland the Club Rep is Stephanie Allen and if you live in the far north, contact Gary Hickey.

General Meetings are held bi-monthly on the 4th Monday of the month at the Canine Control Council of Qld Dog Complex, King Avenue, Durack, Brisbane.  Months are January, March, May, July, September and November.
